I have had many articles about welfare rights and social policy issues published by a wide range of publications: Bella, Big Issue, Community Care, Law Society's Gazette, Nursing Times, Pulse, 0 -19,  Public Finance, The Legal Executive, Social Work Today, Care and Health (website and magazine), Adviser, IRRV Benefits Information Service, Anti-Poverty Matters, Institute of Mental Health Law, Elders, Benefits, Elderly Client Adviser, Learning Support.

From 1991 to 2001, I had a monthly welfare rights column in Yours and a fortnightly welfare rights column in Community Care from 1998 to 2001.

I am co-author of several Local Government Association publications including being main author of their guide to improving benefit take-up by older people; "It's a Right Not a Lottery" (1998). Contributor to "Get in on the Act (Guide to the Children Leaving Care Act 2000)" and "Removing the Barriers – The Case for a New Deal for Social Services and Social Security" (1997).

While on secondment to the Department for Work and Pensions, I drafted a number of leaflets about benefits for older people (MIG1L), At a Glance Guide to Minimum Income Guarantee and Good Practice Guide to Benefits Take-up.

Media experience

I have had both live and pre-recorded interviews for BBC & ITV local TV programmes, local radio, nationally networked BBC radio news and have done live phone-in advice sessions with BBC Radio 4 MoneyBox Live, Granada TV, Anglia TV, BBC Radio Suffolk, BBC Radio Eastern Region and SGR FM.

I have also done interviews with local and national press.
